Katowice YA Festival and Not-Only-YA Book Fair
On 23-24 March 2024, the International Congress Centre in Katowice will host a Young Adult literature festival: the Katowice YA Festival and the Not-Only-YA Book Fair, organised in response to the needs of YA genre fans, a perfect opportunity to meet your favourite authors all in one place at the same time.
In an attempt to meet the needs of the YA reading community, we decided to organise an event targeted mainly at the 12-20 age bracket. Last year’s Katowice Book Fair showed that there was a huge demand for such events: booths offering YA books and YA book signings were practically under siege!
Over the two days of the fair, more than 20 thousand young people are estimated to have visited the YA sector. We would like to tap into the potential of this group. Since Katowice is the European City of Science 2024, we will also add a popular science book section and an agenda of meetings with scientists involved in public outreach in different disciplines. The festival will be accompanied by a Not-Only-YA Book Fair, with booths from publishers offering different books intended for a much broader audience.
The City of Katowice is a co-organiser of the Book Fair.
