19th Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice

Thanks to a combination of futuristic sounds and post-industrial venues, the Festival quickly won a loyal following. From the start, its organisers wanted to present the most interesting phenomena in contemporary music, on the borderline between jazz, electronics and dance; they sought to show that music that is practically absent from the Polish media could attract a large audience of music fans from all over Poland and Europe to Katowice.

For many years, Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice has closely followed the careers of top stars and the most promising debutants. The line-up always consists of artists who combine unusual, often avantgarde ideas with an ability to reach the hearts of thousands. It is at Tauron Festival that many international artists, such as Autechre, DJ Krush, Prefuse 73, Jamie Lidell, Amon Tobin, Flying Lotus, Battles, Bonobo, Fever Ray and many other gave their first performances in Poland.
